To combat certain high-profile crimes, the Bonn police also carry out tasks in the district of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis and Euskirchen police authorities, right up to the border with Belgium.
This primarily includes investigations into intentional homicides and in the area of state security.
But specially trained Bonn police detectives also investigate cases of organized crime as well as economic and computer crime.
Federal and UN city of Bonn
The former federal capital Bonn is still home to numerous national and international organizations, associations and authorities. In addition to federal government ministries, the Federal President also has an official residence in Bonn.
Bonn is also the only German UN location. The UN Campus is home to 18 United Nations organizations with around a thousand employees from all over the world.
Thus, the federal city of Bonn has also established itself as an international conference venue, for whose protection the Bonn police are responsible.
