Bicycling is modern, healthy and environmentally friendly. However, bicycles lack a "crumple zone", meaning that the risks of road traffic - unlike with cars - cannot be mitigated by technical progress. Therefore, mutual consideration and fairness, a sense of conflict, but also rule-compliant behavior are of particular importance.
In traffic accidents involving cyclists, around half are regularly caused by the cyclists themselves. That is why the police are appealing directly to you: Dear cyclists, please support us in implementing the police initiative "Bonn cycling - safe and fair" and thus play an active role in improving road safety.
